Hello! I arrived at Westwood Presbyterian Church Preschool as director seven years ago and came via a private preschool in Venice. I have worked in education for 20 years, teaching preschool to high school, working as an administrator of arts education programs in public schools with a period time in arts marketing and promotion at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York and UCLA. It is a great privilege to be guiding WPC Preschool as we continue to serve the families on the Westside and honor the mission of the church. I love what I do every day, working with the children, teachers, parents, church staff and the extended community. I passionately believe that every child deserves an excellent preschool experience and make including children of all backgrounds, faiths, cultures and abilities a priority for our school. Having diversity and embracing our differences is what brings us closer as a community and will ensure that our children grow into responsible, thoughtful, compassionate citizens.

Additional Staff

  • Monik

Monik C. Jones is an artistic director, choreographer, dancer, and teacher. She joined WPC Preschool in 2000, after graduating from UCLA with a BA in World Arts and Culture, concentrating in dance, with a minor in Education. It was at UCLA where she first started studying dance education with Arts Bridge America. She believes that arts (dance especially) played a significant role in developing valuable means of communication with others through self-expression. Monik felt that children of all ages should be exposed to the wonderful world of arts education through qualified teachers, manageable class sizes, available resources, and a safe, non-competitive environment, so she founded Monik’s Creative Movement Education Program. Her work in dance education has provided her the opportunity to be the movement education specialist at WPC Preschool. Her program has taken her all over the world from places like Washington D.C. to Ghana, West Africa.

  • javier

Hi my name is Javier Torres. I’ve been at WPC Preschool for 19 years and do everything from maintaining the preschool and the church, managing security, and general handyman tasks. Office Staff

  • heidi

    office manager

My name is Heidi Rudd and I have found the best job in the world. It was quite a journey to find it. I received my BA in Theater, TV & Film Production and after working at CBS and Sony I became an international travel agent which led to an Operations Manager position at a Meetings & Incentives firm. Although that was fun, I longed for something more. Once I found Early Childhood Education I was hooked. I spent many years at the Goldwyn Children’s Center before coming to WPCP. As the Office Manager here at WPCP for over ten years, I have the best of two worlds: organizing an office and spending time with parents and children. I have a busy household with five cats, one dog, two children and one husband. Brennen is starting USC as an Aerospace Engineering major and Gwendolyn is in10th at LACES and my husband works at USC near where we live.

  • priscilla

    office assistant

My name is Priscilla Glaza and this is my fifth year here at WPCP. I have an Associate’s of Science in Early Childhood Education and just graduated with my B.A in Early Childhood Education from Pacific Oaks College. I have wanted to be a teacher and work with children for as long as I can remember. Along with working in the office, I also get to work in the classrooms with all the wonderful children. I am so lucky to have found a job that I absolutely love. My husband and I have one son, Theodore, who is an extremely silly and adventurous toddler now. He definitely keeps us busy. When I’m not working I’m soaking up as much family time as possible. We love being outdoors at the beach, in the mountains, bike riding, hiking, or just at the park. I also coach volleyball at a near by high school, which is another passion of mine.
